|
| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Robert A. Saddler, Ed.D. of Chicago, who |
| 4 | | passed away on March 9, 2020; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Saddler was born on July 16, 1934; he earned a |
| 6 | | doctorate in Education Leadership and was an educational leader |
| 7 | | and mentor to countless individuals in the Chicago Public |
| 8 | | Schools; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, For over 60 years, Dr. Saddler went above and |
| 10 | | beyond to build a foundation of educational success for Chicago |
| 11 | | youth; he supported several educational programs aimed at |
| 12 | | improving the lives of students and preparing them for college; |
| 13 | | he began a mentoring program for young men in 7th and 8th grade |
| 14 | | to provide moral support and academic guidance; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Saddler had a deep passion for education and |
| 16 | | an unwavering commitment to helping students achieve success; |
| 17 | | and
|
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Saddler is survived by his children, Lorri |
| 19 | | Lynn Saddler and Derrick Robert Saddler; therefore, be it
|
| 20 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL |
