| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Leslie P. Overcash of Rock Island, who |
| 4 | | passed away on April 7, 2020; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Leslie Overcash was born to Leonard and Reta |
| 6 | | (Kennedy) Overcash in Canton on August 13, 1947; he graduated |
| 7 | | from Valley High School in 1965 and joined the U.S. Army in |
| 8 | | 1966; he first served in Thailand and later volunteered to |
| 9 | | serve with the 589th Corps of Engineers in An Khe, Vietnam; he |
| 10 | | served honorably until he returned home in 1970; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Leslie Overcash worked as a printer at Pip |
| 12 | | Printing Bettendorf; he was also a handy man throughout the |
| 13 | | Quad-Cities and Canton area; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Leslie Overcash was best known for his old trucks, |
| 15 | | his love of fishing and being outdoors, and making others |
| 16 | | laugh; and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Leslie Overcash was preceded in death by his |
| 18 | | parents and his brother, Ronald Overcash; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Leslie Overcash is survived by his children, David |
| 20 | | Overcash and Lori (John) VandeVoorde; his grandchildren, |
