SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of E. Lois Immke of Pontiac, who passed away
4on April 12, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Lois Immke was born in rural Gary, Indiana to
6Elmer H. and Emma (Tammen) Friant on January 7, 1938; she
7married Paul A. Immke at First Lutheran Church in Pontiac on
8January 27, 1957; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Lois Immke was a member of Emmanuel United
10Methodist Church, "Immke Church", where she was a Sunday and
11Bible school teacher; when the church closed in 1989, she
12joined McDowell United Methodist Church; she was also a member
13of the Farm Bureau Women's Committee; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Lois Immke enjoyed knitting and was known for her
15gift of booties; she was a talented seamstress and made and
16distributed walker bags to area nursing homes for several
17years; she enjoyed fishing in Minnesota and snowmobiling in the
18winter with her family; she was a loving mother, grandmother,
19sister, aunt, and friend; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Lois Immke was preceded in death by her husband,
21Paul; her parents; her stepmother, Birdeen Friant; her brother,

1Elmer "Sonny" Friant; and her sisters-in-law, Joan Immke, Sue
2Friant, and Emogene Friant; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Lois Immke is survived by her children, Pamela E.
4(Thomas) Schahrer, Donald P. (Dora) Immke, and Mark A. (Lori)
5Immke; her grandchildren, Scott T. Schahrer, Aaron (Ashley)
6Immke, Adam (Breanne) Immke, Andrew J. Immke, Joshua A. Immke,
7and Rachel I. Immke; her great-grandchild, Vivian R. Immke; and
8her brothers, Otis Friant and Paul (Joan) Friant; therefore, be
9it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12E. Lois Immke and extend our sincere condolences to her family,
13friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Lois Immke as an expression of our
16deepest sympathy.
