| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Bernard J. "Bernie" Hickey of Edelstein, |
| 4 | | who passed away on March 10, 2020; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Bernie Hickey was born to John and Helen |
| 6 | | (Fuertges) Hickey on January 6, 1942; he graduated from |
| 7 | | Bradford High School and St. Ambrose College; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Bernie Hickey was employed at Camp Grove State |
| 9 | | Bank; he retired in 1990 as executive vice president; he |
| 10 | | continued to serve as the bank's chairman of the board of |
| 11 | | directors; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Bernie Hickey was an active and involved member of |
| 13 | | the Peoria Chapter of the ACLU; he was also a member of the |
| 14 | | Universalist Unitarian Church in Peoria; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Bernie Hickey was preceded in death by his parents |
| 16 | | and his brother, Philip; and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Bernie Hickey is survived by his siblings, Denny |
| 18 | | (Val), Jim (Peg), Rosemary (Hank) Welch, and Kathy (Dan) |
| 19 | | Czarniewski; his sister-in-law, Mary Hickey; and his many |
| 20 | | nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
