| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Donald J. "Don" Carter of Oak Park, who |
| 4 | | passed away on October 18, 2019 at the age of 92; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Don Carter was born in Chicago to James and Monica |
| 6 | | Carter on October 30, 1926; he served in the U.S. Army Air |
| 7 | | Corps during World War II; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Don Carter worked for Brigance Chevrolet in Oak |
| 9 | | Park for over 20 years; he also worked for Sun Electric, now |
| 10 | | Snap-On Incorporated, until his retirement in 1992; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Don Carter passionately volunteered at Hines VA |
| 12 | | Hospital, the St. Vincent DePaul Society, and Morton East High |
| 13 | | School in Cicero, where he used his automotive skills to help |
| 14 | | students; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Don Carter will be fondly remembered for his Model |
| 16 | | 'T' and his involvement in the Midwest Model 'T' Club and the |
| 17 | | Salt Creek Model 'A' Club; he enjoyed camping with his wife, |
| 18 | | and they were members of the Spinning Wheels and Over the Hill |
| 19 | | camping clubs; and
|
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Don Carter was preceded in death by his parents |
