| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Byron Eugene Sackett, who passed away on |
| 4 | | April 6, 2020; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Byron Sackett was born to Jonathan Henry and Jane |
| 6 | | Bell (Powers) Sackett in Meredosia on January 2, 1926; he |
| 7 | | married Darlene Taylor in Alton on March 31, 1951; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Byron Sackett worked as a industrial research |
| 9 | | chemist in Chicago; after moving back to the Alton area, he |
| 10 | | attended Southern Illinois University Edwardsville where he |
| 11 | | earned a master's degree in Education Administration and Media; |
| 12 | | he then began working for Alton Public Schools as their audio |
| 13 | | visual/media specialist and introduced the teachers of the |
| 14 | | Alton School District to video recording and computers; he |
| 15 | | retired in 1991; and
|
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Byron Sackett was preceded in death by his |
| 17 | | parents; his brother, Glen Sackett; his sisters, Josephine |
| 18 | | Pennock and Mary Carr; and his nephews, Scott Rhodes and Ryan |
| 19 | | Aud; and
|
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Byron Sackett is survived by his daughter, Deborah |
| 21 | | Lynn Sackett; his son, Richard Sackett; his grandchildren, |
