| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Nanette "Nan" Zalar O'Hara of Joliet, who |
| 4 | | passed away on June 9, 2020; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Nanette O'Hara was born to Enid (Bruning) |
| 6 | | Blunck-Zalar and Dr. Joseph A. Zalar in 1952; she attended St. |
| 7 | | Paul the Apostle School and Joliet West High School; she then |
| 8 | | graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago; later in |
| 9 | | her life at the age of 50, she returned to college and earned a |
| 10 | | master's degree in Education and a second master's degree in |
| 11 | | Library and Information Science; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Nanette O'Hara worked as a real estate appraiser; |
| 13 | | in 1978, she received the "SRA" Senior Residential Appraiser |
| 14 | | designation from the Society of Real Estate Appraisers, now a |
| 15 | | part of the Appraisal Institute; she was the second woman "SRA" |
| 16 | | in the Chicago chapter; after receiving her master's degrees, |
| 17 | | she became a teacher at Joliet Central High School District |
| 18 | | 204; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Nanette O'Hara took great joy in raising her |
| 20 | | children and was deeply proud of the adults they became; she |
| 21 | | enjoyed golfing; and |
