| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Morris A. "Morrie" De Geeter of East |
| 4 | | Moline, who passed away on July 10, 2020 at the age of 101; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Morris De Geeter was born in Hartwick, Iowa to |
| 6 | | Edward and Emma (Van Waes) De Geeter on August 6, 1918; he |
| 7 | | served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and married |
| 8 | | Patricia "Annie" (Gardiner) Campbell in Moline on August 18, |
| 9 | | 1987; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Morris De Geeter retired from the International |
| 11 | | Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 1304 in 1982, after 25 |
| 12 | | years of service; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Morris De Geeter loved his house and the outdoors; |
| 14 | | he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Morris De Geeter was preceded in death by his |
| 16 | | parents; his children, Brad Martin De Geeter and Karna O'Neil; |
| 17 | | his stepdaughter, Barb Campbell; and his siblings, Fred, |
| 18 | | Victor, and August De Geeter and Ida Vermiere; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Morris De Geeter is survived by his wife, Annie; |
| 20 | | his stepson, Weldon Campbell Jr.; numerous grandchildren, |
