2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of Dominic Anthony Scaduto of Springfield, |
4 | | who passed away on July 8, 2020; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Dominic Scaduto was born in Springfield on March |
6 | | 11, 1926 to Paolino and Antonia Mezzapelle Scaduto, who were |
7 | | both from Montevago, Sicily; he graduated from Cathedral Boys |
8 | | High School; he married Agnes Mae Maynerich in Springfield on |
9 | | June 10, 1946; and
|
10 | | WHEREAS, shortly after graduating high school, Dominic |
11 | | Scaduto began working for Sangamo Electric; he relocated to |
12 | | Georgia with the company after it was purchased by |
13 | | Schlumberger; he stayed with the company for 42 years until it |
14 | | closed in 1984; and
|
15 | | WHEREAS, Dominic Scaduto was a member of the Holy Name |
16 | | Society at St. Aloysius Church, Knights of Columbus Council |
17 | | 364, and the Sangamo Management Club; and
|
18 | | WHEREAS, Dominic Scaduto loved working with his hands; in |
19 | | the 60s, he completely took apart and rebuilt a Model A Ford; |
20 | | he will be remembered for his good story telling and his sense |
21 | | of humor; and
|

1 | | WHEREAS, Dominic Scaduto was preceded in death by his |
2 | | parents; his wife of over 65 years, Agnes; his daughter, |
3 | | Frances Ann Scaduto; his brother, Frank J. Scaduto; and his |
4 | | sisters, Rose Giacomini, Virginia Madonia, Dominica Vespa, and |
5 | | Cheterina Mayes; and
|
6 | | WHEREAS, Dominic Scaduto is survived by his sons, Michael |
7 | | (Tracy) Scaduto and John Scaduto; his daughter, Mary Mehan; his |
8 | | grandchildren, Noah M. (Brooke) Mehan, Anthony J. Mehan, |
9 | | Nicholas RM Scaduto, and Sophia Scaduto; his great-grandchild, |
10 | | Lily Mehan; his great-granddaughter on the way; his two |
11 | | sisters, Josephine Madonia and Mary Ann Scaduto Bart; and his |
12 | | several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
|
13 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL |
14 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
15 | | Dominic Anthony Scaduto and extend our sincere
condolences to |
16 | | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
him; and be it |
