SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Michael "Mike" J. David of East Moline, 
4who passed away on July 14, 2020; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Mike David was born to Howard and Lila (Johnson) 
6David in Rock Island on February 2, 1948; he married Sandra 
7Berthoud, with whom he raised two children; he served in the 
8U.S. Navy; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Mike David  was a  bartender at the West Inn in East 
10Moline; he also worked as a welder and most recently in 
11maintenance at the Black Hawk Hills Apartments; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Mike David enjoyed making enchiladas, cooking 
13Thanksgiving dinners, and being with his grandchildren; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Mike David was preceded in death by his parents 
15and his sister, Patricia Johnson; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Mike David is survived by his children, Anessa 
17(Louie) Dooley, and Michael J. David II; his eight 
18grandchildren; his six great-grandchildren with one on the way; 
19and his siblings, Larry David, Jerry David, Donna Coons, and 
20Doris "Doty" Melchi; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL 
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of

3Michael "Mike" J. David and extend our sincere
condolences to 
4his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
him; and be it

6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be

7presented to the family of Mike David as an expression of
our 
8deepest sympathy.
