SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Stanley "Stan" Waldorf of Cordova, who passed away on July 14, 2020; and

WHEREAS, Stan Waldorf was born in Sparta, Wisconsin to Fred and Leona Brown Fiet on October 10, 1942; he graduated from Clinton High School in 1960 and served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1960 to 1963; he married Emilie Jones; he later married Judy (DeCastecker) Burggraf in Rock Island on March 12, 1993; and

WHEREAS, Stan Waldorf retired from ALCOA in 2005; and

WHEREAS, Stan Waldorf was an avid golfer at Byron Hills Golf Course with three holes in one to his credit, two of which were eight days apart; he was a black belt in Tae Kwon Do and was a member of East Moline Legion Post 227, where he served on the Honor Guard; and

WHEREAS, Stan Waldorf was preceded in death by his father, Fred Fiet; his mother, Leona; his adoptive father, Ron Waldorf; and his sister, Nancy Haefner; and

WHEREAS, Stan Waldorf is survived by his wife, Judy; his children, Jason, (Jennifer) Waldorf, Josh Waldorf, Cassie (Nick) Bultsma, Jay Burggraf (Stephanie Tubbs), and Janie (Tom) Bussert; his grandchildren, Caedence, Henry, Kamden, and Grayson Waldorf, Julia Bultsma, Dakota Serra-Burggraf, Olivia (Steven) Soseman, and Lila Bussert; his siblings, Bonnie (Gary) Schroeder, Roberta (Jim) Kuhn, and Annette (Steve) Snell; and his special sister, Patricia Denmon; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Stanley "Stan" Waldorf and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Stan Waldorf as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
