| 1 | | SENATE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 | | WHEREAS, Commonwealth Edison, an Exelon Company known as |
| 3 | | ComEd, is paying a $200 million dollar criminal fine as part of |
| 4 | | a federal investigation into a years-long bribery scheme in the |
| 5 | | State involving jobs, contracts, and payments; and
|
| 6 | | WHEREAS, The fine is deposited in the federal treasury, and |
| 7 | | the U.S. Congress has the ability to direct where those funds |
| 8 | | are sent; therefore, be it
|
| 9 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL |
| 10 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we urge the U.S. |
| 11 | | Congress to return the $200 million dollar fine to the ComEd |
| 12 | | ratepayers in Illinois either through direct payments to |
| 13 | | ratepayers or by directing the funds to the Illinois Commerce |
| 14 | | Commission for distribution to ratepayers; and be it further
|
| 15 | | RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be |
| 16 | | delivered to the U.S. Senate Majority Leader, the U.S. Senate |
| 17 | | Minority Leader, the U.S. Speaker of the House, the U.S. House |
| 18 | | of Representatives Minority Leader, and all members of the |
| 19 | | Illinois Congressional Delegation.
