| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Warren Louis Kammerer Jr. of St. Charles, |
| 4 | | who passed away on July 20, 2020; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Warren Kammerer was born to Warren Louis Kammerer |
| 6 | | Sr. and Lois Amelia (Campbell) Kammerer in Pecatonica on |
| 7 | | November 6, 1925; he attended the University of Illinois, where |
| 8 | | he studied business administration; college was interrupted |
| 9 | | when he enlisted in the Army toward the end of WWII; he was |
| 10 | | chosen for the O.S.S. Counter Intelligence Corps, a precursor |
| 11 | | to the C.I.A, and was stationed in occupied Osaka, Japan; after |
| 12 | | the war, he completed his degree in 1951; he married his wife |
| 13 | | Virginia in 1970; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Warren Kammerer started his lifelong career at |
| 15 | | Firestone in 1951; he started in Sales and worked his way up to |
| 16 | | managing his own store in St. Charles for over 30 years; and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Warren Kammerer held positions on many civic and |
| 18 | | governmental committees, including being a delegate for the |
| 19 | | 1992 Republican National Convention; he was honored to be the |
| 20 | | first elected Chairman of the Kane County Board from 1990 to |
| 21 | | 1996, where he was instrumental in significant infrastructure |
| 22 | | and financial reforms; and
|

| 1 | | WHEREAS, A charter member of Kiwanis International, Warren |
| 2 | | Kammerer was also a member of the VFW, Moose International, the |
| 3 | | National Exchange Club, the Playmakers community theater |
| 4 | | group, and various church committees; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Warren Kammerer loved photography, dancing, |
| 6 | | watching Illini and Packer football, cars, and car shows; |
| 7 | | family was everything to him; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Warren Kammerer was preceded in death by his |
| 9 | | parents; his siblings, Katherine (Donald) Bradley, Marjorie |
| 10 | | (Samuel) Castree, James (Joan) Kammerer, and Wayne Kammerer; |
| 11 | | and his grandson, Eric Kammerer; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Warren Kammerer is survived by his wife; his |
| 13 | | children, Ann Kammerer, Jill (David) Kammerer, Warren Kammerer |
| 14 | | III, Stephen Kammerer, Holly (Tom) Regelbrugge, Lauren |
| 15 | | (William) Pedersen, Jinny Gilgan, and Katy (Ryan) Carlson; his |
| 16 | | grandchildren, Lana Kammerer and Harry and Samuel Jaffe; his |
| 17 | | great-grandchildren, Anyssa Green and the soon to be Ethan |
| 18 | | Carlson; and his siblings, Joan (Robert) Lindquist, Nellie |
| 19 | | (Willis) Runne, and Phyllis (Fred) Peterson; therefore, be it
