SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Judy D. June of Joliet, who passed away
4on July 24, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Judy June was born in East St. Louis to Thomas
6Clifford and Wanda Lee (Biggers) Tyson on February 22, 1943;
7she graduated from Cahokia High School in 1960 and was an
8active member of the Bethel Chapter in East St. Louis; she
9graduated from nursing school at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St.
10Louis, Missouri in 1964; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Judy June began her nursing career at Centerville
12Hospital in Illinois and continued in Springfield for two
13seasons as team nurse for the St. Louis Cardinals minor league
14team, the Springfield Redbirds; she was a pediatric physician's
15assistant with a large local clinic and chief nurse of the
16first statewide Bureau of Nursing Home Enforcement with the
17Illinois Department of Public Health; she retired as
18administrator of the Deerbrook Care Center and as a nursing
19consultant with several major midwest nursing home
20corporations; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Judy June was a member of the First Presbyterian
22Church, where she was part of the church choir; she was also a

1member of The Holly Club of Joliet and a supporter of the
2Joliet Area Community Hospice; she was an avid gardener, and
3her garden was featured in the 2016 Hospice Garden Walk; her
4most treasured times were with her grandchildren and
5great-grandchildren; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Judy June was preceded in death by her parents;
7and
 
8    WHEREAS, Judy June is survived by her husband of 30 years,
9Ford C. "Chet" June III; her sisters, Nancy Lorraine (Dennis)
10Husch and Connie Lee (Michael) McKee; her brothers-in-law,
11Peter B. (Janet) June and D. Andrew (Cynthia) June; her aunt,
12Barbara Carolyn Ocker; her daughter-in-law, Kim Chang Suk
13Weber; her grandchildren, Robert James Weber III, Angelica
14Kathren Weber, and Sarah Ann Weber; her great-grandchildren,
15Madison Nicole Weber, Bella Nacole Weber, Brantley Michael
16Weber, and Paisley Delores Ballew; her son, Robert James Weber
17II; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it
 
18    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
19ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
20Judy D. June and extend our sincere condolences to her family,
21friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further
 
22    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
