SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of James A. "Jim" Curtis of Bloomington, who
4passed away on August 25, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jim Curtis was born in Bloomington to James C. and
6Beulah Altig Curtis on May 1, 1932; he married Martha Baize in
7Bloomington on October 27, 1956; he served in the U.S. Army
8during the Korean conflict; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Jim Curtis worked as a police officer at Illinois
10State University in Normal for over 20 years until his
11retirement; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Jim Curtis was known as a jokester; he enjoyed
13fishing and spending time with his family; he will be missed by
14all who knew him; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Jim Curtis was preceded in death by his parents;
16his daughter, Debbie Curtis; and his brothers, Robert Curtis
17and Donnie Curtis; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Jim Curtis is survived by his wife; his children,
19James Eugene Fuller, James "Jim" Curtis Jr., and Lorra (Keith)
20Frantz; his seven grandchildren; his eight

1great-grandchildren; his brother, William (Kay) Curtis; and
2his sister, Nancy Sweitzer; therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
5James A. "Jim" Curtis and extend our sincere condolences to his
6family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
7further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to the family of Jim Curtis as an expression of our
10deepest sympathy.
