SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Raymond Lewis, formerly of Rantoul, who 
4passed away on June 20, 2020; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Raymond Lewis served in the U.S.  Air Force for 
6over 20 years; he served in Korea during the war and spent most 
7of his time at Chanute Air Force Base; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, After retiring from the Air Force, Raymond Lewis  
9was the superintendent at Brook Hill Golf Course for 21 years; 
10he was actively involved in the building of the back-nine in 
11the mid 1970s; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Raymond Lewis's family was especially important 
13to him; he was loved by many and will be missed; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Raymond Lewis was preceded in death by his 
15parents; his siblings; his son, James Lewis; his 
16great-granddaughter, Nya Lewis; and his step-grandson, Devin 
17Fiedler; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Raymond Lewis is survived by his wife of over 37 
19years, Helen Lewis; his son, Dennis (Debbie) Lewis; his 
20daughter-in-law, Sharon Lewis; his stepsons, Patrick, Terry,

1David, Michael, and Jeff Fiedler; his adopted-by-the-heart 
2daughter, Wendy Carlson; 17 grandchildren; and 18 
3great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
  
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL 
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
6Raymond Lewis and extend our sincere condolences to his family, 
7friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
  
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to  the family of  Raymond Lewis as an expression of 
10our deepest sympathy.
