| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of James D. Kell of Rochester, formerly of |
| 4 | | Springfield, who passed away on September 13, 2020; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, James Kell was born to Cecil and Ruth (Copple) |
| 6 | | Kell in Centralia on March 3, 1925; upon graduation from high |
| 7 | | school, he proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1946; |
| 8 | | he earned two Overseas Service Bars, an American Campaign |
| 9 | | Medal, a European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with |
| 10 | | two Bronze Battle Stars, a Good Conduct Medal, and the World |
| 11 | | War II Victory Medal; he was proud to have attended an honor |
| 12 | | flight to Washington D.C. later in life;
he married Margaret |
| 13 | | Ann Murphy on November 4, 1949; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, James Kell worked as a draftsman; he was first |
| 15 | | employed by Sangamo Electric and then by Dickey John; he |
| 16 | | retired in 1989; and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, James Kell loved working with his hands; he |
| 18 | | enjoyed model railroading (N Gauge) and playing golf; his |
| 19 | | greatest source of joy was his family, particularly his |
| 20 | | grandchildren; and
|
| 21 | | WHEREAS, James Kell was preceded in death by his wife; his |
