SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Ronald Valerio "Junior Jones" Clemente of
4Moline, who passed away on September 5, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Ronald Clemente was born in Chicago to Valerio Y.
6and Hildagarde W. (Jones) Clemente on August 15, 1938; he
7served in the U.S. Navy from 1955 to 1959; he married Sally
8Nellans in Chicago in June 1960; he later married Beverly
9Gossen in Las Vegas, Nevada in 1975; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Ronald Clemente worked at the Rock Island Arsenal
11from 1962 to 1990; he was a blackjack dealer for Jumer's Casino
12from 1992 to 1995; he worked as a limousine driver from 1997 to
132001; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Ronald Clemente enjoyed playing table tennis,
15softball, and bowling in his younger years; he loved riding his
16motorcycles and playing video poker throughout his adult life;
17and
 
18    WHEREAS, Ronald Clemente was preceded in death by his
19parents; his son, Ronald Valerio Clemente Jr.; and his
20son-in-law, John Frick; and

1    WHEREAS, Ronald Clemente is survived by his wife; Beverly
2Clemente; his siblings, Patricia Frick, Michael (Lyl)
3Clemente, Anita (Herb) Runowiecki, and Denise (Jeff) McClard;
4his daughters, Stormy (Patrick) Shealy, Carmen Clemente, and
5Julie Clemente; his stepchildren, Steve (Lori Boutott)
6Burgess, Terri (Griffith) Burgess-Ferrell, and Chris Burgess;
7his 18 grandchildren; and his 18 great-grandchildren;
8therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Ronald Valerio "Junior Jones" Clemente and extend our sincere
12condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
13him; and be it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Ronald Clemente as an expression of
16our deepest sympathy.
