SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Alfred P. Huber Sr. of Rock Island, who
4passed away on September 1, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Alfred Huber Sr. was born in Rock Island to Joseph
6and Pansy (Dalton) Huber on October 25, 1924; he served in the
7U.S. Coast Guard and was assigned to the U.S. Navy in the South
8Pacific; he married Donna Tracey on August 17, 1946, and she
9preceded him in death in 1989; he later married Mary
10Mosenfelder; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Alfred Huber Sr. was the owner and operator of
12Huber Paint and Wallpaper for over 50 years before passing his
13business down to his son Alfred II; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Alfred Huber Sr. was involved in a number of
15organizations, including the Rock Island Elks Club as a past
16exalted ruler, the American Legion, the VFW, The ARC of the
17Quad City Area as a board member, Knights of Columbus, and the
18Downtown Rock Island Businessmen's Association as a past
19president; he was very involved in the Boy Scouts in his
20earlier years, and he helped develop the Loud Thunder Scout
21Camp and earned the Silver Beaver Award for leadership; he
22enjoyed spending time with his family, golfing, and

1woodworking; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Alfred Huber Sr. was preceded in death by first
3wife, Donna; his parents; his sister, Mary Ann (Bob) Oakes; his
4brother, Bernard (Opal) Huber; and his son, Gary Mosenfelder;
5and
 
6    WHEREAS, Alfred Huber Sr. is survived by his wife, Mary;
7his children, Alfred Huber II (Jean), Laura Lundberg (Jay),
8Meredith Lizdas, Cathy Covemaker (Michael), and Tim
9Mosenfelder (Debbie); his 13 grandchildren; and a host of
10great-grandchildren, extended family members, and friends;
11therefore, be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
13ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
14Alfred P. Huber Sr. and extend our sincere condolences to his
15family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
16further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to the family of Alfred Huber Sr. as an expression of
19our deepest sympathy.
