| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Alfred P. Huber Sr. of Rock Island, who |
| 4 | | passed away on September 1, 2020; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Alfred Huber Sr. was born in Rock Island to Joseph |
| 6 | | and Pansy (Dalton) Huber on October 25, 1924; he served in the |
| 7 | | U.S. Coast Guard and was assigned to the U.S. Navy in the South |
| 8 | | Pacific; he married Donna Tracey on August 17, 1946, and she |
| 9 | | preceded him in death in 1989; he later married Mary |
| 10 | | Mosenfelder; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Alfred Huber Sr. was the owner and operator of |
| 12 | | Huber Paint and Wallpaper for over 50 years before passing his |
| 13 | | business down to his son Alfred II; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Alfred Huber Sr. was involved in a number of |
| 15 | | organizations, including the Rock Island Elks Club as a past |
| 16 | | exalted ruler, the American Legion, the VFW, The ARC of the |
| 17 | | Quad City Area as a board member, Knights of Columbus, and the |
| 18 | | Downtown Rock Island Businessmen's Association as a past |
| 19 | | president; he was very involved in the Boy Scouts in his |
| 20 | | earlier years, and he helped develop the Loud Thunder Scout |
| 21 | | Camp and earned the Silver Beaver Award for leadership; he |
| 22 | | enjoyed spending time with his family, golfing, and |
