| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Randall H. "Randy" Myers of Bloomington, |
| 4 | | who passed away on September 18, 2020; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Randy Myers was born in Bloomington to Harvey and |
| 6 | | Margaret Vance Myers on June 2, 1950; he grew up playing |
| 7 | | baseball in Chicago Heights; he was a talented trombone player |
| 8 | | in his youth and was accepted into the Band of America, |
| 9 | | comprised of the best high school band members in the U.S., in |
| 10 | | 1968; through Band of America, he toured Europe; he served in |
| 11 | | the U.S. Army, where he auditioned for the Army Band and was |
| 12 | | stationed at Ft. Wadsworth on Staten Island, New York; he |
| 13 | | married and raised his family in Bloomington; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Randy Myers owned and operated the New York Deli |
| 15 | | in Normal; he also worked at Avanti's, Peace Meal, and Beck |
| 16 | | Florist, all of Bloomington; and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Randy Myers was a proud father; he will be |
| 18 | | remembered for his big personality; he will be missed by all |
| 19 | | who knew him; and
|
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Randy Myers was preceded in death by his parents; |
| 21 | | and
