2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of Gale L. Ufert, who passed away on July |
4 | | 23, 2020; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Gale Ufert was born in Alton to Harold L. and |
6 | | Betty L. (Duley) Kessinger on January 16, 1954; she married |
7 | | Fred E. Ufert III in Edwardsville on December 30, 1992, and he |
8 | | preceded her in death on March 25, 2015; and
|
9 | | WHEREAS, Gale Ufert worked as an administrative assistant |
10 | | for the Wood River Township Supervisor's Office for over 27 |
11 | | years before retiring; she was also a published author; and
|
12 | | WHEREAS, Gale Ufert served as a Wood River City |
13 | | Councilwoman and on the East Alton-Wood River High School Board |
14 | | from 2001 to 2007; she was active with the Wood River Heritage |
15 | | Council and was past chairperson of the Wood River |
16 | | Beautification Committee; and |
17 | | WHEREAS, Gale Ufert was an active community volunteer; she |
18 | | was an annual supporter of the Jacoby Arts Center and was a |
19 | | past member of the Alton Eagles Auxiliary; and
|
20 | | WHEREAS, Gale Ufert was preceded in death by her husband, |
