| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Mario Almanza of Moline, who passed away |
| 4 | | on October 23, 2020; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Mario Almanza was born in Moline to John and |
| 6 | | Virginia (Navarro) Almanza on October 12, 1957; he served in |
| 7 | | the U.S. Army from 1978 to 1981; he married Tracy Petrie in Las |
| 8 | | Vegas, Nevada on November 4, 1989; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Mario Almanza worked as a laboratory technician |
| 10 | | for the city of Moline for 36 years; he took great pride in his |
| 11 | | work; he also served as the Moline Water Department's mascot |
| 12 | | Splash; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Mario Almanza enjoyed ice fishing, feeding and |
| 14 | | watching birds, music, cars, electronics, and shopping; his |
| 15 | | favorite teams were the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bears; he |
| 16 | | loved life and his dog Chewy; and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Mario Almanza was preceded in death by his parents |
| 18 | | and his brother, Ricky Almanza; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Mario Almanza is survived by his wife, Tracy; his |
| 20 | | children, April Childs and Ryan Almanza; his siblings, Rosemary |
