| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Mark Alan Babcock of Moline, who passed |
| 4 | | away on October 31, 2020; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Mark Babcock was born to Jack and Marcella |
| 6 | | (Hopkins) Babcock in Moline on October 24, 1948; he graduated |
| 7 | | from Moline High School in 1967; he married Sally Iverson in |
| 8 | | Moline on September 13, 1969; he served in the U.S. Army in |
| 9 | | Germany from 1968 to 1970; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, When he was younger, Mark Babcock worked in the |
| 11 | | restaurant business, managing the Boars Head in Moline and then |
| 12 | | working as an assistant manager at The Dock in Davenport, Iowa; |
| 13 | | he also owned a restaurant in Sherrard called Food and Company; |
| 14 | | after leaving the restaurant business, he sold cars for various |
| 15 | | car dealerships around the Quad Cities; and
|
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Mark Babcock enjoyed spending time at the family |
| 17 | | cabin in Decorah, Iowa; he was a skilled woodworker who enjoyed |
| 18 | | making a variety of different objects for family and friends; |
| 19 | | and
|
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Mark Babcock was preceded in death by his mother |
| 21 | | and his two brothers, Mike and Steve Babcock; and
