| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Michael "Mike" Baumbach of Moline, who |
| 4 | | passed away on November 17, 2020; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Mike Baumbach was born in Rock Island to Dale and |
| 6 | | Dorothy (Allen) Baumbach on September 9, 1949; he graduated |
| 7 | | from Moline High School; he served in the U.S. Army for 12 |
| 8 | | years with many units; he was most proud of being a tank |
| 9 | | commander and serving with the 11th Armored Calvary; he married |
| 10 | | Cynthia Licht in Hampton on July 15, 2000; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Mike Baumbach worked at the Rock Island Arsenal |
| 12 | | for 30 years, where he last served as a test tech at the range, |
| 13 | | before retiring in 2011; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Mike Baumbach was known by his nickname "Bomber" |
| 15 | | and for loving life; he was a life member of the VFW; he loved |
| 16 | | riding his Harley next to his wife and his many friends; he |
| 17 | | also loved spending time with his family, friends, and his |
| 18 | | "brothers and sisters by different mothers", especially his |
| 19 | | best friend, Frank, and his brother, Kenny; he will be |
| 20 | | remembered for his big heart and for being a friend to all; and
|
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Mike Baumbach was preceded in death by his |
