SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Thomas J. Lynch, who passed away on
4October 22, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Thomas Lynch was born in Hammond, Indiana to
6Thomas P. and Mary Ellen (Thompson) Lynch on July 7, 1927; he
7served in the U.S. Navy during World War II; he married Alice
8Robb in Rock Island on November 29, 1947, and she preceded him
9in death on October 14, 2020; and
 
10    WHEREAS, After 37 years of service, Thomas Lynch retired as
11a senior systems analyst from Deere & Company in 1984; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Thomas Lynch was a member of the Christ United
13Methodist Church in East Moline, where he sang in the choir,
14helped with the food pantry, and helped serve Rotary; he was an
15avid golfer and made a hole in one at hole #8 on the greens of
16Highland Springs in 1997; he served as a scout master for Troop
17#335 Franklin School Moline, where he received the Silver
18Beaver Award; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Thomas Lynch was preceded in death by his parents;
20his wife; and his stepfather, Lou Maisack; and

1    WHEREAS, Thomas Lynch is survived by his sons, Dennis
2(Teresa) Lynch, Richard (Teressa) Lynch, and Randall (Sharon)
3Lynch; his grandchildren, Christopher, Patrick, Jeremy,
4Benjamin, Chad, Kelly, Nicole, Adam, and Mark; 17
5great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews;
6therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Thomas J. Lynch and extend our sincere condolences to his
10family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Thomas Lynch as an expression of our
14deepest sympathy.
