SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Robert "Bob" Henry Mitchell of East 
4Moline, who passed away on October 29, 2020; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Bob Mitchell was born to Edward and Edna 
6(Crabtree) Mitchell in Farmer City on February 27, 1922; he 
7served in the U.S. Army during World War II; he married Mabel 
8G. Nicholson in Moline on August 25, 1952; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Bob Mitchell worked as a supervisor of buildings 
10and grounds for the Moline School District #40 for many years; 
11and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Bob Mitchell was a member of Moline American 
13Legion Post #246 and Moline VFW Chapter #2153; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Bob Mitchell enjoyed fishing, playing pool, and 
15helping others with home repairs; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Bob Mitchell was preceded in death by  his wife; 
17his son and daughters-in-law, Rodger (Joyce) Vergane and Linda 
18Vergane; his grandson, Robert Vergane; his four brothers; and 
19his sister; and

1    WHEREAS, Bob is survived by his  son, Steve Vergane; his six 
2grandchildren; his eight great-grandchildren; his 13 
3great-great-grandchildren; and his sister, Laverne Whisman; 
4therefore, be it
  
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL 
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of

7Robert "Bob" Henry Mitchell and extend our sincere
condolences 
8to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
him; and be 
9it further
  
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be

11presented to the family of Bob Mitchell as an expression of
our 
12deepest sympathy.
