SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Laverne Katherine Tomaso, who passed away 
4on August 13, 2020 at the age of 84; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Laverne Tomaso was born on June 5, 1936; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Laverne Tomaso was a longtime resident of Oak 
7Park; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Laverne Tomaso was a dedicated, 50-year-plus 
9member of the Saint Giles Family Mass Community and was a lover 
10of music, babies, gardens, and all things sweet, especially 
11chocolate; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Laverne Tomaso was preceded in death by her 
13husband, Richard G. Tomaso, and her daughter, Katherine Tomaso; 
14and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Laverne Tomaso is survived by her children, Rick 
16Tomaso, Carla (Ronald) Weil, Jon (Amy) Tomaso, and Suzy 
17(William) Bradford; her siblings, Marion Blake, Geri (Tom) 
18Flynn, and Maureen and Michael Blake; and her grandchildren, 
19Maddy and Ellie Weil, Jennifer, Luke, and Benjamin Bradford, 
20and Michael, Ryan, and Ava Tomaso; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL 
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing 
3Laverne Katherine Tomaso and extend our sincere condolences to 
4her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it 
5further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to the family of Laverne Tomaso as an expression of 
8our deepest sympathy.
