SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, the members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Jane Christie Johnson of Oak Park, who
4passed away on July 14, 2020 at the age of 101; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jane Johnson was born to Axel and Ruby Anderson on
6July 29, 1918; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Jane Johnson was an active member in her community
8and constantly volunteered her time at West Suburban Hospital,
9as a den mother for the local Cub Scout and Girl Scout troops,
10and as the treasurer of the Nineteenth Century Club; she
11organized bake sales at her local parish and monthly birthday
12celebrations for community members; she also hosted
13college-age foreign students in her Oak Park home while they
14studied English; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Jane Johnson was hospitable and supportive to
16friends and strangers alike; she was known for her infectious
17energy and sparkle and enjoyed teaching neighborhood children
18about baking cookies, cakes, and pies as the "queen of pie
19crusts"; she loved to travel with her husband and family, and
20they explored a variety of places, including Greece, Alaska,
21the Bahamas, Italy, Ireland, and Paris; and

1    WHEREAS, Jane Johnson was preceded in death by her husband,
2Raymond A. Johnson, and her eight siblings and their spouses;
3and
 
4    WHEREAS, Jane Johnson was the mother of Alan (Martie
5McMane), Curt (Sharyn), Jan Kelley, and Karen (Ali) Nimrouzi;
6the grandmother of Darrell (Marciel) Rikert, Sohrob Nimrouzi,
7Knowl Johnson (Shirley Tephly), Sahar (Jake) Hartsock, and
8Ramine Nimrouzi; the great-grandmother of Auden Hartsock,
9Emory Rikert, and Madden Hartsock; and the aunt to many nieces
10and nephews; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
13Jane Christie Johnson and extend our sincere condolences to her
14family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
15further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Jane Johnson as an expression of our
18deepest sympathy.
