SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Jerry Lee Hoyle of Milan, who passed away
4on November 28, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jerry Hoyle was born in Avon on September 23,
61950; he was raised in Rock Island and graduated from Rock
7Island High School in 1968; he served as a sergeant in the 3rd
8Battalion 11th Marine Division in the U.S. Marine Corps from
91969 to 1970, where he operated the M113 armored personnel
10carriers during the Vietnam War; he married Connie Heinrich in
11October 1971, and she preceded him in death in July 2002; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Jerry Hoyle worked at the Rock Island Arsenal for
1333 years; he was deployed as a civilian contractor to
14Afghanistan twice for the Department of Defense; he retired in
152006; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Jerry Hoyle was a member of the Milan Rifle Club
17and Milan American Legion Post 569; he was an avid turkey
18hunter and also enjoyed hunting antelope in Wyoming; in his
19earlier years, he enjoyed fishing and participated in many bass
20tournaments; he enjoyed restoring antique tractors; he loved
21traveling to South Dakota, Wyoming, and Yellowstone National
22Park; and

1    WHEREAS, Jerry Hoyle is survived by his special friend,
2Beverly Wassenhove; his sister, Brenda Cassini; his grandson,
3Josh (Emmie) Whitmore; his great-grandsons, Henry and Owen Lee;
4his nieces, Ann, Amber, Jill, and Katherine; his nephews,
5Nicholas and Joseph; his brothers-in-law, Paul (Chris)
6Heinrich and Joe (Shelley) Heinrich; his sister-in-law, Judy
7Heinrich; and his best friend, Fred Hofmann; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Jerry Lee Hoyle and extend our sincere condolences to his
11family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Jerry Hoyle as an expression of our
15deepest sympathy.
