| 1 | SENATE RESOLUTION

| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of Roger William Huddleston, who passed away | ||||||
| 4 | on November 23, 2020; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Roger Huddleston was born to Warren and Lillian | ||||||
| 6 | Huddleston on May 17, 1947; he married his wonderful wife Margo | ||||||
| 7 | on December 1, 1967; and
| ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, Roger Huddleston began his professional career as | ||||||
| 9 | an inhalation therapist at Mercy Hospital; he was also a | ||||||
| 10 | nursing-home administrator for five years, worked in the family | ||||||
| 11 | business at Country Side Mobile Homes, sold insurance for | ||||||
| 12 | Bankers Life and Foremost, worked as the general manager of | ||||||
| 13 | Dream Homes, owned Roger Huddleston Homes, and served as a | ||||||
| 14 | consultant for various businesses in the manufactured housing | ||||||
| 15 | industry; and
| ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, Roger Huddleston was a member of the Sangamon | ||||||
| 17 | Valley Christian Center; his passions led him to service in a | ||||||
| 18 | variety of organizations, including the Illinois Manufactured | ||||||
| 19 | Housing Association and the Mahomet Area Youth Club; and
| ||||||
| 20 | WHEREAS, Roger Huddleston had a commanding voice and became | ||||||
| 21 | a gifted writer, using that voice; he enjoyed writing and used | ||||||
| |||||||
| |||||||
| 1 | his talent to help to create legislation that ensured | ||||||
| 2 | affordable housing, as to write poetry and beautiful letters | ||||||
| 3 | for his family and friends; he was a lifelong fan of the | ||||||
| 4 | Fighting Illini and served as co-founder of the Honor the Chief | ||||||
| 5 | Society; he was a true people person and enjoyed the company of | ||||||
| 6 | others; and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, Roger Huddleston was preceded in death by his | ||||||
| 8 | parents; his sister, Susan Manierston; and his brother, David | ||||||
| 9 | Huddleston; and
| ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, Roger Huddleston is survived by his wife of nearly | ||||||
| 11 | 53 years, Margo; four sons, Matthew (Sonja), Burton (Meiby), | ||||||
| 12 | Joseph (Lauren) and Joshua; his daughter, Deborah Janczewski | ||||||
| 13 | (Jeff); his seven grandchildren; his three | ||||||
| 14 | great-grandchildren; his sister, Jean Huddleston; and his | ||||||
| 15 | brother, James Huddleston; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 16 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | ||||||
| 17 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
| 18 | Roger William Huddleston and extend our sincere
condolences to | ||||||
| 19 | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
him; and be it | ||||||
| 20 | further
| ||||||
| 21 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
| ||||||
| 22 | presented to the family of Roger Huddleston as an expression of
