| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Eugene "Gene" D. Wooters of Findlay, who |
| 4 | | passed away on November 29, 2020; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Gene Wooters was born to Glenn Curtis and Mary |
| 6 | | Jane (Wycoff) Wooters in Springfield on September 29, 1943; he |
| 7 | | graduated from Findlay High School in 1961; he married Tickie |
| 8 | | L. Hubbard on June 29, 1962; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Along with his wife, Gene Wooters owned and |
| 10 | | operated Wooters Sport Shop in Findlay for nearly 50 years; |
| 11 | | they also operated the Ole Country Church Music and Dance Hall; |
| 12 | | and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Gene Wooters served the Village of Findlay as |
| 14 | | mayor for more than 20 years; he also served on the Village |
| 15 | | board and as Village president; and
|
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Gene Wooters was a member of Faith Covenant Church |
| 17 | | in Findlay and the NRA; and
|
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Gene Wooters was an accomplished musician who |
| 19 | | played in a number of bands and provided live music to Findlay |
| 20 | | and the surrounding communities; he enjoyed spending time |
