SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of James Lewis "Rock" Haley Sr., who passed 
4away on December 20, 2020; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, James Haley Sr. was born in Peoria to Christine 
6Johnson Haley and James E. Haley on January 19, 1937; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, James Haley Sr. was a supervisor for the Secretary 
8of State for over 20 years; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, James Haley Sr. was preceded in death by his wife, 
10Edna Haley; his parents; his sisters, Roberta Davis, Ethel 
11Howze, and Chrissie Gage; and his brother, Richard "Moo Moo" 
12Haley; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, James Haley Sr. is survived by his sons, James 
14"Jimmy" (Sandi) Haley, Robert "Bobby" (Deanne) Haley, Kenneth 
15"Kenny" (Darla) Haley, Chico Haley, and Brandy 
16Granderson-Haley; his daughters, Vickie Haley, Paula Rice, 
17HuVonna "Bonnie" Cave Haley, Christina "Tina" Haley, Teresa 
18Haley, and Chandara Haley; his brothers, William "Billy" Haley, 
19Donald Haley, Rickey (Theresa) Haley, Gerald Haley, and Richard 
20"Rico" Jr.; his special brother, Mitchell; his sisters, Arlene 
21Haley (Donald) Brandon, Donna (Lindsey) Hickman, and Vickey J.

1Haley; his 22 grandchildren; his 37 great-grandchildren; his 
2three great-great-grandchildren; and a host of aunts, uncles, 
3nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members, and friends; 
4therefore, be it
  
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL 
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
7James Lewis "Rock" Haley Sr. and extend our sincere condolences 
8to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be 
9it further
  
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11presented to the family of James Haley Sr. as an expression of 
12our deepest sympathy.
