|
2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of Donald "Don" L. Randich of Crest Hill, |
4 | | who passed away on November 30, 2020; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Don Randich was born to Marion and Patricia |
6 | | Randich in Joliet on October 17, 1935; he was a lifelong |
7 | | resident of Crest Hill, a city he loved; he graduated from |
8 | | Lockport Township High School in 1953 and then served in the |
9 | | U.S. Army; and
|
10 | | WHEREAS, Don Randich was the fourth professional |
11 | | firefighter hired by the Lockport Fire Department and served |
12 | | for forty-two years, inspiring many others to become |
13 | | firefighters; he also served for eight years as the Lockport |
14 | | Township Highway Commissioner and then became a leading |
15 | | salesman for the Hoyle Road Equipment Company for over 20 |
16 | | years; and
|
17 | | WHEREAS, Don Randich was elected six terms as mayor of |
18 | | Crest Hill and served as Crest Hill's city treasurer for eight |
19 | | years; he also served as a school board member for Chaney Monge |
20 | | School, as well as numerous other government and civic boards; |
21 | | he lived a life dedicated to service; and

1 | | WHEREAS, Don Randich served as a lector and was an active |
2 | | member of St. Anne's Catholic Church for over forty years; he |
3 | | was a lifetime member of the Chaney Progressive Club and |
4 | | enjoyed membership in the Joliet Rivals Club, the Joliet |
5 | | Firefighter Retiree Association, and the Croatian Club; and
|
6 | | WHEREAS, Don Randich was preceded in death by his beloved |
7 | | wife of 55 years, Bette; his parents; five brothers; three |
8 | | sisters; and his daughter-in-law, Laurie Randich; and
|
9 | | WHEREAS, Don Randich is survived by his children, Dana |
10 | | (Anna) Farley, Craig (Jana) Randich, and Todd (Angie) Randich; |
11 | | six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters; and |
12 | | more than two hundred nieces, nephews, and cousins; therefore, |
13 | | be it

14 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL |
15 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
|
16 | | Donald "Don" L. Randich and extend our sincere
condolences to |
17 | | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
him; and be it |
