| 1 | | (4) When students have access to quality feminine |
| 2 | | hygiene products, they are able to continue with their |
| 3 | | daily lives with minimal interruption. |
| 4 | | (b) In this Section: |
| 5 | | "Feminine hygiene products" means tampons, and sanitary |
| 6 | | napkins, and feminine wipes for use in connection with the |
| 7 | | menstrual cycle. |
| 8 | | "School building" means any facility (i) that is owned or |
| 9 | | leased by a school district or over which the school board has |
| 10 | | care, custody, and control and (ii) in which there is a public |
| 11 | | school serving students in grades 6 through 12. |
| 12 | | (c) A school district shall make feminine hygiene products |
| 13 | | available, at no cost to students, in the bathrooms of school |
| 14 | | buildings.

| 17 | | Sec. 34-18.56. Availability of feminine hygiene products. |
| 18 | | (a) The General Assembly finds the following: |
| 19 | | (1) Feminine hygiene products are a health care |
| 20 | | necessity and not an item that can be foregone or |
| 21 | | substituted easily. |
| 22 | | (2) Access to feminine hygiene products is a serious |
| 23 | | and ongoing need in this State. |
| 24 | | (3) When students do not have access to affordable |
| 25 | | feminine hygiene products, they may miss multiple days of |

| 1 | | school every month. |
