Amends the Hospital Licensing Act. Requires hospitals that receive a property tax exemption under a provision of the Property Tax Code concerning exemptions related to access to hospital and health care services by low-income and underserved individuals to post the hospital's charity care policy and the contact information of a financial counselor in a reasonably viewable area in the hospital's emergency room.

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 5. The Hospital Licensing Act is amended by adding |
| 5 | | Section 6.28 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (210 ILCS 85/6.28 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 6.28. Posting charity care policy, financial |
| 8 | | counselor. A hospital that receives a property tax exemption |
| 9 | | under Section 15-86 of the Property Tax Code must post the |
| 10 | | hospital's charity care policy and the contact information of |
| 11 | | a financial counselor in a reasonably viewable area in the |
| 12 | | hospital's emergency room.
