| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 5. The State Commemorative Dates Act is amended by |
| 5 | | adding Section 107 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (5 ILCS 490/107 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 107. Atomic Veterans Day. The 16th day of July of each |
| 8 | | year is designated a commemorative holiday to be known as |
| 9 | | Atomic Veterans Day and to be observed throughout the State as |
| 10 | | a day in honor and remembrance of the men and women of this |
| 11 | | Nation who during their time of service experienced exposure |
| 12 | | to nuclear radiation while on active duty and served so |
| 13 | | valiantly in the cause of freedom.
