| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 5. The Child Care Act of 1969 is amended by |
| 5 | | changing Section 4.4 as follows:
|

For the
the purposes of background |
| 8 | | investigations authorized in
this Act, "license applicant" |
| 9 | | means the operator or person with direct
responsibility for |
| 10 | | daily operation of the facility to be licensed. In the
case of |
| 11 | | facilities to be operated in a family home, the Department |
| 12 | | may, by
rule, require that other adult residents of that home |
| 13 | | also authorize such
investigations. |
