| 4 | | "Section 5. The Illinois Pension Code is amended by adding |
| 5 | | Section 1-113.24 as follows:

| 6 | | (40 ILCS 5/1-113.24 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 1-113.24. Investment carbon footprint. Every |
| 8 | | retirement system, pension fund, or investment board subject |
| 9 | | to this Code shall, on an annual basis, determine the carbon |
| 10 | | footprint of its investment portfolio's direct holdings in |
| 11 | | publicly traded common stocks and make available to the public |
| 12 | | a report of the findings. In determining the carbon footprint |
| 13 | | of its investment portfolio under this Section, a retirement |
| 14 | | system, pension fund, or investment board may utilize |
| 15 | | financial data providers to aid in the collection of the |
| 16 | | required information.".
