Amends the Illinois Governmental Ethics Act. Provides that no legislator while serving as a member of the General Assembly shall concurrently serve as the chairperson for a statewide political party.

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Governmental Ethics Act is amended |
| 5 | | by adding Section 2-105 as follows: |
| 6 | | (5 ILCS 420/2-105 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 2-105. Legislator serving as a political party |
| 8 | | chairperson. No legislator while serving as a member of the |
| 9 | | General Assembly shall concurrently serve as the chairperson |
| 10 | | for a statewide political party.
