| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 5. The State Commemorative Dates Act is amended by |
| 5 | | adding Section 194 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (5 ILCS 490/194 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 194. Illinois Constitution Day. August 26 of each |
| 8 | | year is designated as Illinois Constitution Day, to be |
| 9 | | observed throughout the State as a day to commemorate August |
| 10 | | 26, 1818 as the day Illinois ratified its first State |
| 11 | | Constitution.
