| 2 | | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 2994 on page 1, by |
| 3 | | replacing lines 8 through 19 with the following:

| 4 | | "township. The township board and the corporate authorities of |
| 5 | | a coterminous, or substantially coterminous, municipality or |
| 6 | | county in which the township lies may by resolutions of the |
| 7 | | board and corporate authorities of the municipality or county |
| 8 | | board, and after referendum of the voters of the township and |
| 9 | | municipality or county: (1) discontinue and abolish the |
| 10 | | township; (2) transfer all the rights, powers, duties, assets, |
| 11 | | property, liabilities, obligations, and responsibilities of |
| 12 | | the township to the municipality or county, as applicable; and |
| 13 | | (3) cease and dissolve all township road districts with the |
| 14 | | district's jurisdiction and authority transferred to the |
| 15 | | municipality or county, as applicable, upon the dissolution |
| 16 | | of".
