| 20 | | employee who is designated as an Undocumented Student Liaison |
| 21 | | must be knowledgeable about current legislation and policy |
| 22 | | changes through professional development with the Illinois |
| 23 | | Dream Fund Commission to provide the wrap-around services to |
| 24 | | such students. |

| 1 | | The board shall ensure that an Undocumented Student |
| 2 | | Liaison is available at each campus of the community college |
| 3 | | district. Each campus is encouraged to place the Undocumented |
| 4 | | Student Liaison in its educational opportunity programs' |
| 5 | | office or financial aid office. |
| 6 | | An Undocumented Student Liaison may work on outreach |
| 7 | | efforts to provide access to resources and support within the |
| 8 | | grade P-20 education pipeline by supporting summer enrichment |
| 9 | | programs and pipeline options for students in any of grades 9 |
| 10 | | through 12. |
| 11 | | (b) A board is encouraged to establish an Undocumented |
| 12 | | Student Resource Center on each of its campuses. A |
| 13 | | Undocumented Student Resource Center may offer support |
| 14 | | services, including, but not limited to, State and private |
| 15 | | financial assistance, academic and career counseling, and |
| 16 | | retention and matriculation support services, as well as |
| 17 | | mental health counseling options because the changing |
| 18 | | immigration climate impacts a student's overall well-being and |
| 19 | | success. |
| 20 | | An Undocumented Student Resource Center may be housed

| 21 | | within an existing student service center or academic center, |
| 22 | | and the new construction of an Undocumented Student Resource |
| 23 | | Center is not required under this Section. |
| 24 | | The board may seek and accept any financial support |
| 25 | | through institutional advancement, private gifts, or donations |
| 26 | | to aid in the creation and operation of and the services |
