practical experience in the practice of pharmacy |
| 2 | | subsequent to the
date of his licensure as a licensed |
| 3 | | pharmacist in the State of Illinois. There shall be one member |
| 4 | | who is a pharmacy technician.
There shall be 2 public members, |
| 5 | | who shall be voting members, who
shall not be engaged in any |
| 6 | | way, directly or indirectly, as providers of health care in |
| 7 | | this State or any other state.
|
| 8 | | (b) Each member shall be appointed by the Governor.
|
| 9 | | (c) Members
shall be appointed to 5 year terms. The |
| 10 | | Governor shall fill any vacancy for the remainder of the |
| 11 | | unexpired term. Partial terms over 3 years in length shall be |
| 12 | | considered full terms. A member may be reappointed for a |
| 13 | | successive term, but no member shall serve more than 2 full |
| 14 | | terms in his or her lifetime.

| 15 | | (d) In making the appointment of members on the Board, the |
| 16 | | Governor shall
give due consideration to recommendations by |
| 17 | | the members of the profession
of pharmacy and by pharmacy
|
| 18 | | organizations therein. The Governor
shall notify the pharmacy
|
| 19 | | organizations promptly of any vacancy
of members on the Board |
| 20 | | and in appointing members shall give consideration
to |
| 21 | | individuals engaged in all types and settings of pharmacy |
| 22 | | practice.
|
| 23 | | (e) The Governor may remove any member of the Board for |
| 24 | | misconduct, incapacity,
or neglect of duty, and he or she |
| 25 | | shall be the sole judge of the sufficiency of the
cause for |
| 26 | | removal.

| 1 | | (f) Each member of the Board shall be reimbursed for such |
| 2 | | actual
and legitimate expenses as he or she may incur in going |
| 3 | | to and from the place
of meeting and remaining there during |
| 4 | | sessions of the Board.
|
| 5 | | (g) The Board shall hold quarterly meetings at such times |
| 6 | | and places and upon
notice as the Department
may determine and |
| 7 | | as its business may require.
A majority of the Board members |
| 8 | | currently appointed shall constitute a quorum. A vacancy in |
| 9 | | the membership of the Board shall not impair the right of a |
| 10 | | quorum to exercise all the rights and perform all the duties of |
| 11 | | the Board.
|
| 12 | | (h) The Board shall exercise the rights, powers and duties |
| 13 | | which have been
vested in the Board under this Act, and any |
| 14 | | other duties conferred
upon the Board by law.
