Amends the Dual Credit Quality Act. Provides that a partnership agreement between a school district and a community college district may allow a student to enroll in a dual credit course who does not otherwise meet the community college's academic eligibility requirements to enroll in the dual credit course. Sets forth requirements concerning such a partnership agreement. Effective immediately.

|
| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Dual Credit Quality Act is amended by |
| 5 | | adding Section 23 as follows: |
| 6 | | (110 ILCS 27/23 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 23. Student enrollment eligibility. |
| 8 | | (a) Notwithstanding any other provision of this Act or any |
| 9 | | administrative rules to the contrary, the partnership |
| 10 | | agreement between a school district and a community college |
| 11 | | district may allow a student to enroll in a dual credit course |
| 12 | | who does not otherwise meet the community college's academic |
| 13 | | eligibility requirements to enroll in the dual credit course. |
| 14 | | Under such a partnership agreement: |
| 15 | | (1) the student shall receive the same instruction and |
| 16 | | shall complete the same coursework as those students |
| 17 | | enrolled in the course who do meet the academic |
| 18 | | eligibility requirements; and |
| 19 | | (2) the instructor of the dual credit course shall |
| 20 | | meet the academic credential requirements to teach the |
| 21 | | dual credit course, consistent with paragraphs (1), (2), |
| 22 | | and (3) of Section 20 of this Act, but shall not be |
| 23 | | required to exceed those credential requirements. |
