Amends the Sports Wagering Act. Authorizes a professional women's sports team that has been in existence at least 10 years or its designee to apply to the Illinois Gaming Board to be issued a master sports wagering license. Provides for the initial license fee, renewal fee, and conduct of providing sports wagering by a professional women's sports team or its designee.

2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
4 | | Section 5. The Sports Wagering Act is amended by adding |
5 | | Section 25-37 as follows: |
6 | | (230 ILCS 45/25-37 new) |
7 | | Sec. 25-37. Other master sports wagering licenses. A |
8 | | professional women's sports team that has been in existence |
9 | | for at least 10 years before the effective date of this |
10 | | amendatory Act of the 102nd General Assembly or its designee |
11 | | may apply to the Board for a master sports wagering license. To |
12 | | the extent permitted by federal and State law, the Board shall |
13 | | actively seek to achieve racial, ethnic, and geographic |
14 | | diversity when issuing the master sports wagering license and |
15 | | encourage minority-owned businesses, women-owned businesses, |
16 | | veteran-owned businesses, and businesses owned by persons with |
17 | | disabilities to apply for licensure. Additionally, the report |
18 | | published under subsection (m) of Section 25-45 shall impact |
19 | | the issuance of the master sports wagering license to the |
20 | | extent permitted by federal and State law. |
21 | | The initial license fee for a master sports wagering |
22 | | license issued under this Section is 5% of the professional |
23 | | women's sports team's or its designee's adjusted gross |
