| 1 | | AN ACT concerning transportation.
|
| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by |
| 5 | | changing Section 12-207 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (625 ILCS 5/12-207) (from Ch. 95 1/2, par. 12-207)
|
| 7 | | Sec. 12-207. Spot lamps and auxiliary driving lamps.
|
| 8 | | (a) Any motor vehicle may be equipped with not to exceed |
| 9 | | one spot lamp that shall emit a white light without glare
and |
| 10 | | every lighted spot lamp shall be so aimed and used upon |
| 11 | | approaching
another vehicle that no part of the high-intensity |
| 12 | | portion of the beam will
be directed to the left of the |
| 13 | | prolongation of the extreme left side of the
vehicle nor more |
| 14 | | than 100 feet ahead of the vehicle.

| 15 | | (b) Any motor vehicle may be equipped with not to exceed 3 |
| 16 | | three auxiliary
driving lamps showing white light, including |
| 17 | | white light emitted by a high intensity discharge (HID) lamp, |
| 18 | | or light of a yellow or amber tint, mounted on the front at a |
| 19 | | height not less than 12 inches nor
more than 42 inches above |
| 20 | | the level surface upon which the vehicle stands.

| 21 | | (c) The restrictions of subsections 12-207 (a) and 12-207 |
| 22 | | (b) of this
Act shall not apply to authorized emergency |
| 23 | | vehicles or equipment used
for snow and ice removal operations |
