Amends the Illinois Highway Code. Requires the Department of Transportation to make menstrual hygiene products available, at no cost, in the bathrooms of each Interstate highway rest area.

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Highway Code is amended by adding |
| 5 | | Section 4-224 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (605 ILCS 5/4-224 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 4-224. Availability of menstrual hygiene products at |
| 8 | | rest areas. |
| 9 | | (a) As used in this Section, "menstrual hygiene products" |
| 10 | | means tampons and sanitary napkins for use in connection with
|
| 11 | | the menstrual cycle. |
| 12 | | (b) The Department shall make menstrual hygiene products |
| 13 | | available, at no cost, in the bathrooms of each Interstate |
| 14 | | highway rest area.
