| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 5. The Public Utilities Act is amended by adding |
| 5 | | Section 8-201.4 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (220 ILCS 5/8-201.4 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 8-201.4. Prohibition on use of utility name or logo |
| 8 | | by non-utility entity. No non-utility individual, business, or |
| 9 | | entity shall use a public utility name or logo, in whole or in |
| 10 | | part, in any manner to market, solicit, sell, or bill for a |
| 11 | | home (i) insurance, (ii) maintenance, or (iii) warranty |
| 12 | | product. This prohibition does not apply to activities |
| 13 | | permitted to implement a program or plan approved by the |
| 14 | | Commission pursuant to an order entered under this Act. This |
| 15 | | prohibition does not apply to the partial use by a non-utility |
| 16 | | entity of a logo belonging to an electric utility that serves |
| 17 | | fewer than 200,000 customers in this State.
