AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 4425 




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 4425 by replacing 
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:

 
 
4    "Section 1. Short title. This Act may be cited as the 
5Crisis Intervention Training Program for the Law Enforcement, 
6Firefighter, Emergency Medical, Public Safety 
7Telecommunicator, and Corrections Communities Act.
 
8    Section 5. Crisis intervention training program. Subject 
9to appropriation, the Department of Human Services shall 
10establish and maintain a program to contract with qualified 
11crisis intervention training entities for the purpose of 
12providing peer support crisis intervention, counseling, and 
13wellness for the law enforcement, firefighter, emergency 
14medical, public safety telecommunicator, and corrections 
15communities impacted by trauma, cumulative stress, anxiety, 
16addictions, death, and suicide and the impact on their

1personal lives. Wellness strategies, required under this 
2Section, shall include, but not be limited to, resilience 
3trainings related to resiliency for the job, emotional 
4survival, substance abuse prevention, financial and 
5relationship strategies, and suicide prevention.
6    As used in this Section, "qualified crisis intervention 
7training entity" means an entity approved by the International 
8Critical Incident Stress Foundation to instruct the Critical 
9Incident Stress Management crisis intervention process or any 
10other public or private entity approved by the Department to 
11provide the services required under this Act.
12    The Department may adopt any rules necessary for the 
13administration of the program.".
