AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 5014 




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 5014 by replacing 
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:

 
 
4    "Section 5. The Department of Public Health Powers and 
5Duties Law of the
Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is 
6amended  by adding Section 2310-434 as follows:
 
7    (20 ILCS 2310/2310-434 new)
8    Sec. 2310-434. Governors State University; stroke 
9awareness campaign.
10    (a) Subject to appropriation, the Department shall partner 
11with Governors State University's College of Health and Human 
12Services, and any additional partnership that may be 
13necessary, in establishing a 12-month outreach and educational 
14campaign focused on promoting the following:
15        (1) Stroke awareness for select communities determined 
16    by the Department to be at risk for strokes, particularly

1    within Chicago's Southland community.
2        (2) Stroke recognition and prevention strategies.
3        (3) Access to reliable sources of information about 
4    strokes.
5    (b) An amount of the moneys appropriated to the Department 
6under subsection (a) shall be made available to the Governors 
7State University's College of Health and Human Services in an 
8amount to be mutually agreed upon between the Governors State 
9University's College of Health and Human Services and the 
10Department.".
